Randy Collett is the Director of Economic Development for the City of Marion. He is responsible for developing and maintaining economic and community development programs to attract and retain businesses in Marion. The Director also provides service and assistance to both existing and prospective start-up businesses; actively promotes the city as a desirable location for business development; prepares studies and reports to enable the City Administrator and City Council to make informed decisions; and speaks to various community and professional groups.
Randy earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Harry S. Truman School of Public Affairs (University of Missouri-Columbia) after graduating from Kansas State University in Manhattan. His previous career in the telecommunications industry led to many opportunities for leadership, mentoring, and team building.
Randy and spouse Rachel, have 3 adult children, Carrie, Zach, and Maggie. When not assisting with the family farming operation, he enjoys watching K-State and Kansas City sports teams, traveling to see grandchildren, and puttering with antique iron.
